Words cannot explain how much of an impact this man has made in all of our lives. When you think about turntablism in New York City since way back when, instantly you think of this man and his crew, The X-Ecutioners. He has definately pushed the envelope when it came to coming up with mind-blowing beat juggles, insane body tricks, and the most bulliest battle disses. Over the years coming up as DJs, we would watch, rewind, pause his routines off of a VHS tape to the point when you do playback his set, its all snowy and static from all the times watching it. One of the things that was admirable about him was his ability to keep turntablism alive with his Gong Battle as well as showcasing his famous routines all around the world. All this before alot of microwave popcorn DJ’s got Serato. Roc Raida is one reason why we would always buy doubles of one record, just so we can try to double up as fast as him, and try to do the body tricks he would do too. For those that do not know who this man is, type in his name on You Tube and see him in action. And for all you sucker DJ’s out there that think you are doing your thing and don’t know who this man is, what he’s done for the turntablist community is pretty amazing, and just know that the DJ’s that are up on this guy and have been influenced by him, have the ability to smoke you in a battle with real records.
